Life can feel like such a roller-coaster. We have our ups and our downs. One day, we’re on top of the world, the next day we have nothing. It’s time to return to the center and start using the Law of Attraction planner to get what you want in life.
The Law of Attraction is not a new concept. Most of us have heard about it at some point or another. It was created by Dr. Joseph Murphy and was described in his book titled The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. It’s one of the foundational texts of the New Thought Movement which is one branch of Religious Science, which is one branch of the Unity movement.
The best way to explain how the Law of Attraction works is to use the example of a magnet. A magnet has two poles: positive and negative.
1. Write down your goals
A study done at the University of British Columbia found that using just one positive affirmation per day increased happiness and reduced depressive symptoms. By writing down your positive mantras every day, you’ll form a new, positive habit that supports you in reaching your goals. Your plan should include:
• A list of your goals, with a goal for every month for four years
• A daily affirmation or two to keep you focused
• Designate key dates and deadlines for each goal
• Print it, frame it, hang it up, and look at it every day as a reminder of where you are going and how to get there. You can change your goals whenever you want. Keep what’s working and toss out what isn’t. Make your plan as simple or as complex as you want.
Look through the following outlines for inspiration and then make your own unique plan and get started pursuing your goals! Some people like to add in their resources for each goal (e.g., contacts, education, money, etc.), but this is optional.

2. Set an intention for what you want to manifest
Create a positive affirmation for what you’d like to manifest in your life. For example, “I have a new job with a great paycheck.” If this is a statement you’d like to hear from someone else try: “My friend Jessica is hiring a new employee and I get the job!”Sit in a comfortable, meditative pose. Allow yourself to breathe. Feel your body relax.
Speak your positive affirmation out loud. Choose to speak it with feeling, or just repeat it in your mind over and over. The positive affirmation sets an intention that the universe can work with. If you practice this regularly you’ll start to see the manifestation of your intention.
Sometimes we talk about our goals with others and sometimes we just think about them in our own heads. Either way, it can be easier to say what we don’t want to have happened versus what we do want to happen. When you focus on exactly what you want to manifest this helps keep you focused on the outcome instead of getting lost in the steps you need to take.
We all know how powerful intention is. Your thoughts are energy, and so are your words. Whether you say them out loud or to yourself, they have the ability to program your mind with what you want to create in your life. Have you ever set an intention for something and then it happened? Perhaps you wanted a raise at work and two weeks later, one fell right into your lap. You may have wanted to meet a friend for lunch and she called you within five minutes of your desire being set.
3. Visualize that goal happening
The Law of Attraction is a powerful concept, and it’s a great way to set your intentions and strategically plan your goals to achieve them. When you say something over and over, a belief is formed. Positive affirmations help you to attract what you want into your life by giving your subconscious mind directions for what you desire. By choosing only positive words to repeat, you are creating a belief that will bring you the fulfillment of your desires.
A simple visualization exercise, to imagine and feel the best possible future that you can, can be done to attract and bring into your life what you desire. Planning out your future is a way to begin achieving what you want in life. Visualization is a way to attract by giving your mind instructions on where to go and what to do to achieve your dreams and goals.
4. Get rid of thoughts that don’t support what you want
What is a thought? A thought is an idea that you hold in your mind. It feels like it’s you and that you created it, but in reality, it’s a bunch of information that has been collected over your lifetime. These pieces of information are put together to create the illusion of a “thought.” When you think of something often, it becomes part of a thought.
One of the most common thoughts is the belief that you’re not good enough, or perhaps many thoughts about love or money with the theme of “I’m not good enough.” For example, if someone is told they aren’t good enough, then they might end up believing that their whole life. These thoughts are usually negative.
A lot of what I do is help people realize the thoughts they have and to understand what’s causing those thoughts. They can then begin to change their thoughts to ones that support what they want.
Meditation is the simple process of watching your mind. It’s about stilling your mind and observing your thoughts. It’s a process that encourages you to be ruthless about what thoughts you allow in.
The meditation process also helps you spot patterns in your thoughts. It teaches you to notice how certain thoughts lead to other thoughts and how certain patterns of thinking lead to stressful and unhappy feelings.
The meditation process is a gradual one, but it can be a powerful tool. As you become a better observer of your mind, you’ll be better able to recognize the moments when you’re feeling stressed out or unhappy. You’ll come to see which patterns of thought are helpful and which ones aren’t. And, ultimately, you’ll begin to see how some of your core beliefs might not support what you want in life.
5. Be grateful and excited about your future
Be grateful and excited about your future – Because of the life you can create, are creating, and have created. Live a fulfilling life through gratitude and appreciation for all you have and will do. One step at a time.
When you wake up every morning, tell yourself that today is going to be a great day! Say it out loud, three or four times. Tell yourself how much you love your life and everything in it. When you look in the mirror, remind yourself how beautiful you are. Say positive affirmations out loud to yourself as often as possible throughout the day. Acknowledge and appreciate all that you have in your life. Here are few positive affirmations that I use:
- I love to be grateful and excited about my future.
- I love to love myself more than I fear anything in the world.
- I am a source of great ideas and thoughts, and I am a wonderful person.
- I love having good ideas that make life easy for people.
- The things that I do are great.
- I love the feeling of being free to do whatever I want.
- I can focus on only what I want, when I want.
- If a particular job doesn’t work out, it’s OK, for I know many others will.
Affirmations have been a part of my life since I was a child. While they might seem to some like a strange way to do things, they are in fact an old and wonderful way of thinking. Affirmations are positive statements that can change your life if you truly believe them. The following is a list of my favorite affirmations so that you can stay happy, healthy, and vibrant throughout your day.
At the end of the day try to think about at least one thing you are grateful for that day. Doing this will make you look forward to the next day even more. If you are feeling a lack of happiness and motivation try to think positively and remind yourself how lucky you have it.
Reminding yourself that you are lucky will give you the motivation to pursue your own personal goals and dreams. Keep in touch with your friends and family and be sure to check in with them often.
6. Give thanks and take action on your goals when they show up
Have you ever experienced that moment when you wake up in the morning and realize that your goals are showing up? Sometimes, they show up in the form of a person, a thought, or an object.
It’s like you’re sitting at a table and your goal is sitting directly across from you, telling you what it will take to be successful. A goal is like a guest that shows up unexpectedly at your table, but there is always room for one more. The only thing you have to do is make room for it.
A goal is a gift, so giving thanks is the first thing to do when it pops up. It’s not that simple though. Gratefulness has many steps to itself. Being grateful includes: acknowledging that you’ve received something, recognizing the level of the kindness of the giver, seeing what you could have received instead, feeling what it would be like to have received it instead, and feeling gratitude for having received it while recognizing the value of what you’ve received.
