What Does Being Indecisive Say Out A Person?
When people are far too indecisive, it can say a lot about them. Some people don’t know the value of a decision until it’s already too late. Others simply don’t make an effort to make the right decision. No matter what the reason is, there are some that just can’t make a decision that will benefit them and others.
A new study from Ryerson University, published in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, has revealed that people who are indecisive have a limited vocabulary and tend to be more pessimistic.
The study finds that people that are indecisive are more likely to select one option with certainty, while also selecting a wider range of words when describing themselves. People that are more decisive, on the other hand, tend to use fewer words and have more positive words in their vocabulary.
The study was conducted with 96 undergraduates at Ryerson University. Participants were asked questions about decision-making and then asked to rate themselves on a scale of 1-10 based on a series of positive and negative adjectives.
Results also found that people who rated themselves higher in indecisiveness were more likely to have lower self-esteem, but indecisiveness did not have any effect on self-esteem for those that are more decisive.
